Beam Cutter- FAQ

Where can I get replacement parts (new chain) for my Beam Cutter?
You may order Beam Cutter replacement chains, contact us. Check the Owner's Manual for part numbers.

Will the Beam Cutter fit my saw?
The Beam Cutter Model PR-7000 and the PR-8000 will fit most 7¼" and 8¼" worm-drive and hypoid circular saws. The Beam Cutter Model PR-2700 fits a limited number of Top Handle 7¼" makes and models (If not sure, please email us the Model # and we can confirm).

Will the Beam Cutter fit the new “hypoid” saws?
With a few exceptions, the Beam Cutter will fit this type of saw.

Do I have to leave the Beam Cutter on my saw?
No. We offer a padded carrying case for storing the Beam Cutter when not in use.

What do I use to “oil” the chain?
The Beam Cutter runs at half the rpms of a regular chainsaw and does not require oiling. However, we recommend using a silicone spray every 20 or so cuts to keep the chain running smoothly.

How can I tell if my Beam Cutter is an older style model?
Your Beam Cutter is an older style model if the dot of the “i” in the PRAZI logo on the chain bar does not contain the "TM" trademark symbol.

What is the Beam Cutter warranty?
The Prazi Beam Cutter (both models) is warranted against manufacturers defects for a period of 90 days from date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for any warranty claims.

Worm Drive Saws — FAQ

What is a worm drive saw?
A worm drive saw has the motor mounted at the rear, with power transferred to the blade through a worm gear system. This gives it higher torque and more cutting power.

What are worm drive saws best for?
Heavy-duty cutting — framing, thick lumber, dense materials. They're a favorite among professional contractors.

What are the pros?
Higher torque, better for ripping through thick stock, longer motor life under heavy loads, blade on the left side (great for right-handed sightlines).

What are the cons?
Heavier and longer than sidewinders, require periodic gear oil maintenance, typically more expensive.

Non-Worm Drive (Sidewinder) Saws — FAQ

What is a sidewinder/direct drive saw?
The motor sits beside the blade and drives it directly. It's the most common circular saw style.

What are sidewinders best for?
General purpose cutting, overhead cuts, lighter framing work, and everyday DIY or professional use.

What are the pros?
Lighter weight, more compact, faster blade speed (higher RPM), lower cost, no gear oil needed.

What are the cons?
Less torque than worm drives, blade typically on the right side (can obscure cut line for some users).

Which is better for a beginner?
A sidewinder — lighter, easier to maneuver, and virtually maintenance free.
