About Prazi
Prazi USA began operations in 1989 in Southern California with its flagship innovation, the Beam Cutter. Modeled after a high-end European machine saw, the Prazi Beam Cutter went through numerous prototypes, field tests, and refinements before its launch. Armed with his first production run of one hundred Beam Cutters, founder Bob Cumings set out to introduce a new level of capability to the woodworking and construction industries.
Through demonstrations, trade shows, long hours, and relentless commitment, Bob successfully established the Beam Cutter among industry professionals. Word spread, orders grew, and Prazi USA quickly gained a reputation for tools that solved real jobsite challenges.
In 1991, Prazi relocated to Plymouth, Massachusetts, operating from a 2,000-square-foot warehouse near Plymouth Rock. The company expanded its product line with the Drill Mate, and soon inventors, tradespeople, and entrepreneurs began approaching Prazi to help bring their own tool concepts to market. Fueled by this spirit of innovation, Prazi’s line continued to grow with unique, specialty tools designed for professionals, craftsmen, and dedicated DIYers.
By 2000, Prazi had again outgrown its space and built a new 7,500-square-foot facility in Plymouth. Over the next decade, Prazi earned a strong industry reputation as a visionary company producing labor-saving, problem-solving tools. Prazi products have been recognized by leading industry authorities, including:
Tools of the Trade
Home Improvement
Building Systems
The Handyman’s Club of America
Prazi has also been featured in national media such as This Old House, Bob Vila’s Home Again, Good Morning America, and QVC.
A New Chapter: Honoring Bob & Joining the Crimson Tool Family
After decades of leadership and innovation, Bob Cumings has officially retired, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and ingenuity that helped shape the woodworking accessory market.
As Prazi enters its next chapter, the company is proud to announce that Crimson Tool LLC purchased the business of Prazi USA., Inc., which includes the Prazi Beam Cutter line of products, the company’s well-known chainsaw conversion kits. These products will remain available through existing Prazi sales channels, distributor networks, and online retail platforms, including Amazon. Crimson Tool will release updated ordering and support information as integration progresses.
With this acquisition, Crimson Tool plans to continue manufacturing and supporting the Beam Cutter line, while assessing opportunities for enhanced distribution and product development.
“Acquiring the Beam Cutter line allows us to continue supporting a tool that has earned the trust of professionals for decades. We are committed to ensuring product continuity and providing a smooth transition for customers,” said a representative of Crimson Tool LLC.
Crimson Tool LLC is an affiliate of Milescraft, Inc., a respected leader in the manufacturing of woodworking tools and power tool accessories. Customers of Prazi will have the added convenience and cost savings of adding Milescraft items to their order. Milescraft customers can also add Prazi items to their orders.
