RIPPING
1. First determine which ripping rod you will need.
• For ripping off the right side of your stock,
select the right ripping rod.
• For ripping off the left side, choose the left
rod.
2. With the Saw Mate attached to your
saw, guide the appropriate ripping rod through the guide holes as
shown below.
3. Slide the rod through the guide holes
to the appropriate length for the width you will rip, then tighten
the "L" knob thumb screw, indicated below.
4. The rod extension guide should glide
along the outside edge of the stock you are cutting.
NOTE: When not using the ripping rod,
the extension guide can be flipped up out of the way, enabling you
to use the saw for other cuts without having to remove the rod. |

CROSS CUTTING
1. Guide the cross cutting rod
(the right hand rod) through the long channel and guide holes
as shown below.
2. Hold the rod extension guide firm
against the bottom edge (the edge closest to you) with your hand,
making sure the extension guide is perfectly flat against the edge,
ensuring that the cross cutting guide will be perfectly perpendicular
to the stock.
3. Begin your cut as you would normally,
allowing the saw to glide along the rod, through the long channel
and guide holes.
NOTE: When not using the ripping rod,
the extension guide can be flipped up out of the way and locked in
place by tightening the thumb screw, enabling you to use the saw
for other cuts without having to remove the rod. |

FOR USE AS A SAW STOP
The Saw Mate can be used as a material stop with the cross cut or rip cut
rod tightened in place with the cross cut rod tightening screw. Simply
tighten the rod at the desired length - the saw can then be used as an
ordinary saw with the Saw Mate serving as a stop to permit multiple cuts
of the exact same length. |
