ATTACHING & OPERATING THE DRILL MATE
1
Screw side wing nut out to end of bolt. Slightly loosen top wing nut so that drill clamp arms can be spread to maximum width. (If drill does not fit with bolt through bottom clamp holes, use top holes.)
2
Chuck your cordless or variable speed A.C. drill to the 1/4" gear shaft.
3
Adjust clamp arms to width of drill - tighten top wing nut first, then side wing nut. Drill mounting is now complete. Be sure drill is in forward run position.

Unscrew cartridge holder and load caulking cartridge. With trigger in, release drive position (see figure). Place back of cartridge against plunger. Pull firmly, forcing drive tube back. Screw cartridge holder on, until completely seated. (Be sure caulking cartridge membrane has been punctured.)
5
Engage drive trigger forward (see figure). Start drill to dispense caulking. For instant stop, push drive trigger back to release position. A clicking noise, or the cartridge holder popping forward, indicates maximum pressure - slow or stop drill. If clicking noise continues, check to see if cartridge is plugged or old.
6
If caulking is blowing past the cartridge plunger, you are running the drill to fast.
7
The gun will automatically release the drive trigger at the end of a caulking cartridge.

FOR BEST RESULTS
Normal Operation
Hold gun as shown in POSITION 1.
Be sure trigger is pushed in to engage drive position.

Instant Stop
Slide hand into POSITION 2 with heel of hand releasing drive trigger.
(a quick firm motion works best).
NOTE
It is recommended that you experiment before using the Drill Mate on a job. The speed of the drill determines the rate at which the caulking material will be dispensed. The smaller the bead, the slower the drill speed. If you do not have a variable speed drill, jogging the drill will work.
